I have been waiting patiently since the moment I heard about this game early on in the development phase. The idea sounded so good, the screenshots I saw looked awesome and it is made by a Dutch development team. I only got more hyped when I learned that the achievements were very doable and not that time-consuming. And if you don’t sell items, it has no missable achievements. If you sell certain items you got gifted by leveling friendships with certain characters, you might miss out on certain achievements.
Cat Cafe Manager didn’t disappoint, it was awesome and if I didn’t need some sleep in between and doing some things IRL, I would have played through this game in one sitting. I had so much fun starting with a small cat cafe but making it bigger, unlocking more recipes, and making my visitors happier. Seeing all the different cats your cafe can adopt was also awesome.
The only downside is that quite early on you’ll get some lag spikes and the bigger your cafe gets the more they happen. I have seen people complain that the game crashed on their pc, but the developers seem to be very active to prevent that. I hope that at some point they can iron out the lag problems as well, but it didn’t get in the way of enjoying and completing the game.
Achievement wise the game is very straightforward, completing the story, getting all upgrades from an upgrade tree, making friends, adopting cute kitties, and having items from a specific design in your cafe. The less straightforward ones are to get a cat adopted by a certain type while having that stat on at least 16. I did this with all my adoptions and made that my main focus, but I’m not sure if that is the way to go, as I didn’t unlock the skills from the upgrade tree that fast, but I’m not sure.
I did adore this addictive Cat cafe game and I hope the team of Roost Games will continue making such amazing games.
