Idle/clicker games are my guilty pleasure. I feel ashamed saying I like them, but on the other hand, I like the number to go up and just some busy work while doing other things. Digseum is a great example. You dig in excavation zones to find treasures and put them on display for your visitors. You’ll earn money based on your items on display as well of the amount of visitors. You want both to go up, so you increase your marketing while also working toward increasing the items on display. In typical idle game fashion, you reset your progress after a bit of time to improve your stats and unlock new things.
It isn’t a deep game, and the mechanics are quite easy to understand, but I love that. It does something unique as a clicker/idle game, and it has a theme that makes sense given the mechanics, but it doesn’t overcomplicate stuff. That is not why I’m playing an idle game on the side. It is just a short game for a nice price. I can’t wait to see what the developer Rat Monthly will make next.
None of the achievements are missable and you will just unlock them while playing the game. Completion takes around 2 hours. At first they may look grindy but it is so easy to level up your permanent skills and you later get options to make them all so doable and not grindy.
I give Digseum 4 out of 5 stars.
