DROS

DROS is an awesome action platformer that is full of humor and beautiful artwork. Reminds me a lot of Ratchet & Clank. It has no missable achievements and takes around 14h to complete.

DROS is such an awesome action platformer. The artwork is beautiful, the story is enjoyable and the humor… the humor is GREAT! It reminds me a lot of the Ratchet & Clank or Jack & Daxter games. In this game, you also play as a duo, the knight, which can’t jump because of its heavy armor but is strong enough to open chests and some specific switches, and the mini DROS, which is faster, can jump and use other specific switches. You’ll need the abilities of both characters to be able to beat each level. And you’ll learn a few more skills during the game.

I did encounter a few bugs while playing through the game before the launch and in the first few days after the launch, but the developers are so responsive and there even is an in-game bug report option. They are also very active on their Discord server. All the bugs I encountered were fixed within a few hours. So kudos to the developers for being so responsive and quick!

None of the achievements are missable, but they will challenge you. Especially those ultra-speed run achievements. Most of the achievements you’ll just unlock by just exploring each level, have conversations with the other characters and try to complete everything. I would recommend playing through times through each level. On your first try, take your time to explore everything but try to complete the first 3 objectives of each level ( Finish with X amount of PRIME, find all the blood rocks, find the moderat piece in each level. I highly recommend doing the speed run directly after finishing the level for the first time because at this time you remember how to finish the level. Furthermore, try also to not really kill any Dros. You can destroy their shell so they don’t attack you anymore but don’t kill them, let them escape. If you managed to kill none of them you’ll see no black spatters on the right side of the level overview.

I had an awesome time completing DROS. I was scared for the ultra speedrun achievements but Toxic Larva’s guide really helped me out. The highlight of DROS for me was the humor that was there throughout the whole game. And how each level was so different from the others. I highly recommend DROS.
