Fixfox is a lovely game, with no real cons for me. Lovely story with an awesome gameplay loop and just so much fun! Completion takes around 12h and it has no missable achievements.

FixFox is a lovely topdown game with an addictive loop of finding items, repairing stuff and so finding bigger items and fixing bigger stuff. You’ll find an awesome story in Fixfox which I really enjoyed and it was also lovely that you helpful abilities later on in the game so you don’t have to go look for the early items again when they break.

This game gripped me from the moment I started playing. I enjoy games in which you fix things (especially Assemble with Care) and clean stuff. IRL I hate it, but in games, it feels so satisfying! I also love how you get more and more tools to make the inconveniences easier later on, and how from very early on you can track easily where to go for the next objective. I never felt lost, always had a goal to work toward, and always was invested in the story and how this world became what it is!

At one point I got a bit bored with fixing stuff, as the game mechanic kinda stays the same, but gladly soon after that feeling came up, the game gave an option to make it easier to fix things. That was the right timing to get that upgrade! Another thing I struggled with is that I picked up way too many items and my inventory always was a mess. Some sort of “sort function” would have been helpful, but this is completely my fault as I’m the typical gamer who picks up and carries everything. When you’re playing this, know that you don’t have to pick up everything!

The achievements in FixFox are very straightforward. Almost all of them are story-related, none are missable because you can replay a chapter and the only chapter you have to make a choice between 2 things for the achievements is in the last chapter (which is only a few minutes long). There are achievements for picking up items from holes on the map and for wild jobs, know that you’ll get already a lot by just playing the game without focusing on those. I would recommend doing a wild job when you come by one while going through the main story. Small note: you have to fix those wild jobs manually to let them count toward the achievement. Bonus points for the dev to add trackers to the achievements, so you can see how far you are with those achievements.

All in all, Fixfox is a lovely game, with no real cons for me. Lovely story with an awesome gameplay loop and just so much fun!
