Welcome
Hello,
You don’t need an achievement guide at all for “Grow: Song of the Evertree” but in case you want to look an achievement up, you can find some information here. It takes around 20h to completion and it has no missable achievements. After you get to the end of the story you will be dropped back into the game to be able to mop up the rest.
You can unlock all the achievements before doing the last temple and seeing the ending of the game, but after such a long time in the game you want to see the ending right?
Basic Information
Some basic information that is good to know:
City
Your main priority in the game should be the city, I focussed too much on the world at the beginning, but those are just a tool to get the alchemy ingredients to make the 6 perfect worlds and to make the different buildings in your city.
The most important tip I have is to make sure you claim the badges at the stone in the district centers, as those help you with getting a lot of happiness in each district.
When you unlock a district, check out the different stats that are needed for the stone in the district center and focus on that. Other tips to acquire happiness are to decorate buildings, you also want to upgrade the buildings with tokens, as it is a lot cheaper to add a second citizen to a small house than building multiple small houses.
In the first district, I just built what was possible, but in the others, I started the first day with unlocking the docking and also building some houses (You probably have a bit of spare money for the income of your first district). And then build the different kinds of buildings based on the dream jobs of the people that want to move into your city. This way they are extra happy.
As soon as you unlock the Temple you can buy stats increasing items, as well as re-roll jobs (but that is very RNG for it to show up and then a lot of RNG for the right job to get chosen). Those you can give to the people who have a white card thingy before their name in the people management menu. In that same menu, you can also see who wants to talk to you and who has a quest or want a gift. All those small things help with improving the happiness in your district. And when trying to do the best thing for the citizen that shows up, it is possible to get a happiness rating of 100% with only 5 a 6 citizens.
For those quests, I always kept a few items of each sort and didn’t turn everything into alchemy essences or sell them in Ever-Where.
World seeds and the worlds itself
The game will give you the first world seed, but after finishing that one the game will explain to you that you can make your own world seeds. If you’re an achievement hunter I would highly recommend focussing on the “perfect world seeds” as they have a lot of different essences and items on them (and they look just beautiful).
Finishing worlds has the benefit that you can add Everkids to a world and they will generate resources for you every few days. You can see on the map when the Everkids have a chest with goodies ready for you.
Quickly about those Everkids, when you’re close to one you can hear a specific sound, and they kinda have a green glow around them in the dark. You can find them everywhere, on the city map, in world seeds, in caves and temples.
On another note, in case you’re missing a few specific essences, it is always worth it to check the Ever-Where to see if they have some for you. It is a very expensive way, but it might be the quickest option if you can’t find them on the worlds you made.
General Achievements
It’s in a Book
Unlock Book
This is a story-related achievement that you’ll unlock at the beginning of the game.
Making the Most of Everything
Turn 100 items into Essences
You can turn resources into Essences by Coppertop. Don’t worry about this achievement, it is very likely that you’ll turn far above 100 items into essences.
Walk 500 Miles
Walk 500 miles
Just as the achievement says, just walk around. But don’t worry you’ll get this one and the 1,000 miles along the way, far before you beat the story.
Walk 500 More
Walk a total of 1,000 miles
Just as the achievement says, just walk around. But don’t worry you’ll get the 1,000 miles along the way, far before you beat the story.
Wet the Bed
Use the Watering Can on a bed
You can do this with your own bed as soon as you get the water can.
World Achievements
The following achievements you unlock by making world seeds or doing something specific in the worlds.
Just for Kicks
Kick around items in the Gnome House
On some worlds, you can find a small house with a very angry-looking Gnome in it. Run around while walking over his furniture to get this achievement.
Love them, and hug them
Befriend 5 critters
After you worked already for a bit on a world, and you already have parts of the world healed, you will find critters in all kinds of colors and sizes, but all very adorable. To befriend them and later adopt them, you need to have some interaction with the same critter multiple days (don’t have to be in a row). When you walk up to a critter you can see a speech bubble with an icon that shows you what it wants, then you have the option between two actions, choose the right one to make progress toward befriending them. (PS I highly suggest also having some interactions with your flying mount every day… if you love cute things, it is worth the extra time)
Pure Perfection
Create a Perfect World Seed for each World type
There are 6 perfect worlds seeds available. You can find the right amount of essences and the right order on workbenches well hidden all over Avaria. You don’t need to find the recipes in order to make them, just add the number of essences listed below to be able to make them:
– 10 watery, 25 icy, 10 sparkly, 5 bitter
– 10 mysterious, 5 tasty, 15 soft, 20 mushy
– 16 comforting, 12 lush, 11 tranquil, 11 abundant
– 15 parched, 10 dry, 15 warm, 10 prickly
– 25 dreamy, 5 cute, 15 lively, 5 playful
– 15 squishy, 15 spongy, 10 smelly, 10 sticky
Happy Accident
First Accident World Seed created
This is random, I did this by saving the game before trying and then just making a bunch of seeds, and one of them for sure will turn out bad. You’ll know once you were successful because Coppertop and Book will talk about it and you the achievement will pop after their conversation. I then reloaded my save file by exiting the game and then loading my save file.
City Achievements
The following achievements you unlock by doing things in your city.
Won’t You Be My Neighbor?
Assign first villager to a house
This will be one of the first things you’ll be doing once the first district is unlocked.
The Atmosphere Is Great
Complete first district requests
You can see all the requests when standing on the stone in the center of a district. Don’t forget to claim those requests once you finished them, they help you out a lot with getting Happiness rating.
Can You Tell Me How to Get?
Talk to 20 villagers
This one you’ll get very easily. If you want it quickly, just talk with everybody, but I’m pretty sure that if you would only focus on those that want to get to know you (In the people manager they show a speech bubble) you will still get it very easily.
Take a Look
Inspect 20 villagers
For this, you directly have to the inspect mode when standing next to a villager. On a controller, it is the X button. It doesn’t count for this achievement if you go into the menu (with A on a controller) and then choose to inspect them.
Work Your Cares Away
Build 20 buildings
Don’t worry about this achievement, you’ll get this just with time. You’ll build more than 20 buildings during this game.
Yeah-Nah
Have 10 residents leave town
I’m not sure I can provide much information about this achievement. I just got it without even noticing it. I guess when your district is full of houses, or you don’t pay any attention anymore to a district it will trigger them to leave your town? Not sure if they ever needed to have a house and later be homeless or not, but I think that isn’t required.
Best Friends Everywhere
Complete a relationship character to the “Friend Ending”
This is a side quest that will start when an old friend visits your city. It has several steps but it isn’t hard at all.
Blueprint Bonanza
Unlock all building blueprints
For me, this achievement was unlocked a long time before I unlocked all the blueprints. But just keep an eye on the blueprint tab to see the requirements for a new building. Not sure if this is a bug and will later be fixed or if this is how it is supposed to be. Maybe it is just like the other achievements that you have to unlock 20 of them? (I didn’t count them when I got this achievement).
Plain Sailing
Unlock the Plains District
This is the Second district you’ll unlock. See the basic information at the beginning of this guide for tips on how to increase the happiness of a district quickly.
Wood if I Could
Unlock the Forest Region
This is the Third district you’ll unlock. See the basic information at the beginning of this guide for tips on how to increase the happiness of a district quickly.
Get with the Flow
Unlock the River Precinct
This is the Fourth district you’ll unlock. See the basic information at the beginning of this guide for tips on how to increase the happiness of a district quickly.
Right up Your Valley
Unlock the Valley Province
This is the Fifth district you’ll unlock. See the basic information at the beginning of this guide for tips on how to increase the happiness of a district quickly.
You’ve Peaked
Unlock the Mountainside Ward
This is the last district you’ll unlock. See the basic information at the beginning of this guide for tips on how to increase the happiness of a district quickly.
