Intro

Welcome to this guide. I’ll list here all the info of the Fishing Journal from Idle Waters to have easier access to all the info, or help you find which fish, item, or location you’re looking for. All the columns in a table can be sorted. It is also possible to use CTRL + F to use the search box to find an item on this page. You can also use the search box at the top right of each table.

Fish

There are 100 fish in Idle Waters, and many different locations and items they give when in the aquarium. Keep in mind that for some fish, you have to unlock a specific location or need a high enough fishing rod. I would recommend always prioritizing the level of your fishing rod when upgrading one of the stats/items.

Tip from Parzival: If you’re looking for the four legendary fish (97, 98, 99 & 100) you need to have specific fish in your inventory. For example, for the Emerald Dragon you need a Rubi Snapper and a Sapphire Ram in your inventory. Check the message in a bottle to see which fish you need for the legendary fish you’re looking for.

Items

Items can be found by using your cat, using 3 of the same fish to trade for the item associated with the fish, or the easiest way is to put the right fish into one of your aquariums and get the item that way.

There is a small chance of fishing those items up within their specific locations, but I recommend just catching the right fish and putting it in an aquarium when you need a specific item.

The flowers can be found in specific locations on top of the land or with your cat.

Treasures

Treasure can be found through your cat or by fishing. Each treasure item has a specific location where it can be found. Late in the game, you can craft a charm to increase the chance of finding treasures, dramatically decreasing fishing bite time. So, trying to find it without this charm might be a better option.
