This is an idle game with sims-like mechanics. It sits at the bottom (or on the side of your screen, just like Rusty’s Retirement. In this game, you don’t control the people, but you control their environment. You know their wishes and the requirements for getting higher positions in their career. So you plan their life by buying the right items for their home to satisfy their needs and wants and plan for future steps.

I call it Sims-like, but that might not be the right words, and it’s just my wish to see more indie games that replace The Sims. I was hoping for more control over the people themself and their relationship with each other. However, that is very hard to program, especially in an idle game. I think that the developer did a great job with how to make an idle game in which you follow the lives of a few people. I think that My Little Life is maybe better compared to Unpacking; it has less of a story, but you decide which items to place where. And you have a bit of power over their time, such as whether they will do work-related tasks.

I want to highlight how responsive the developer is quickly. I found a small bug and had a response from the developer very quickly, and it was quickly fixed after that as well. Bugs happen in video games, and it is nice if they are just small things, but what is most important is how developers pick them up, and I can say that was a great experience. They clearly care for their came and want to make the best thing possible.

The achievements in My Little Life are mostly related to people’s wishes and career goals. None of them are missable, so you can enjoy the game without the fear of missing out on anything. Later on, look up which ones you’re missing.

I give My Little Life 4 out of 5 stars.
