Nexomon Review

Nexomon

This lovely game is highly inspired by the Pokemon games. I had a blast finding and catching all the Nexomons. For the achievements, you have to catch all the Nexomons. It took me 48h to complete this.

Is there a good guide available: I’ve written a guide for the Nexomons and other enemies, you can find it here

This game is heavily inspired by the Pokemon games. I liked those games a lot and I had a blast playing through this game as well. It was fun to catch them all! This game is a port from a mobile game with microtransactions. I’m so glad they removed those microtransactions and just have 1 price that includes everything.

The story in this game is fine; I love some of the moments in which they break the fourth wall and have a small comment about “what if this was a video game”.

The achievements are very straight forward, beat all the overseers, beat all the wardens, catch all the Nexomons and level up a Nexomon to a certain level. I did grind every area to find all the Nexomon before moving on. That way I didn’t have to grind too much later on. I wouldn’t suggest this method to others, because later on you get an item to find rare Nexomon easier and in new areas, they might be even easier to find. So spend a little bit of time finding some, but don’t wait with moving on till you have all in one area. My other tip is: Only save around 7 or so golden traps and use the rest also on “special” Nexomons. I waited with using them for legendaries, but after the main story you will find loads and loads of golden traps. I ended up having over 60 golden traps in my inventory when I completed the game. It felt like a waste to not have used them.

I hear that this developer team is working on Nexomon 2 and I’m looking forward to playing that since this was such a lovely game!
