Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon – 100% Achievement Guide

Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon

Welcome

Welcome to this achievement guide for Oceanhorn: Chronos Dungeon.

Unlocking all achievements takes around 20 hours. You have to play through the game 5 times, but as is clear by the completion time, the game is short. All the achievements can be unlocked in a single-player game.

One of those playthroughs needs to be on the Hard difficulty, and I highly recommend doing max danger level on that difficulty, as it is just so much easier to reach the max range level on that difficulty. All the other runs can be done on the easy difficulty.

In one run, you also need to collect all the treasures and get all the legendary weapons to reach a save file with 100%.

NOTE: Achievements unlock when closing the game, so they won’t pop while playing the game. the game is saved when you reach a new floor. So, sometimes it might be useful to quickly close the game to see which achievements you did unlock.

Character Specific Achievements

The following achievements are specific for each character. However, you will have access to all of them during each game, so don’t worry about having the right class.

Secret Sword Art
Perform Knight’s special attack
You perform the special attack by holding the attack button down until the character changes color.

Eagle Eye
Perform Huntress’ special attack
You perform the special attack by holding the attack button down until the character changes color.

Lance Fury
Perform Grandmaster’s special attack
You perform the special attack by holding the attack button down until the character changes color.

Storm of Tomes
Perform Mage’s special attack
You perform the special attack by holding the attack button down until the character changes color.

Explosive Fun
Blow up an explosive barrel with an arrow
You’ll find those red barrels on almost every floor. They will get on fire when getting hit and then explode a few seconds later. Use the Huntress to attack a red barrel.

Special Items & Shop Related Achievements

Planning Ahead
Buy from Shopkeeper
In the town, there is a merchant who primarily sells special items. There is an achievement for spending $5,000 on buying special items. This doesn’t have to be done within one playthrough.

Bubble Poppins
Use umbrella
When you find the umbrella, use it as it is a rare item to find. In my five playthroughs, I have only seen it twice.

Gadgeteer
Use all the special items
You don’t have to attack enemies with them, just use them. So every item I picked up I used even when no enemy was close, until I got this achievement.

Big Spender
Spend 5000 gold in Shop
This doesn’t have to be done within one playthrough. I got it in my second playthrough when spending around 2k gold.

Combat Related Achievements

Fast Feet
Perform the dodge dash
I’m unsure if this needs to be done in combat and really dodge an attack, or if it also unlocks when you use the dodge roll outside of cobmat.

Monster-in-a-Box!
Get poisoned
There are these green ghost-type enemies that will poison you.

Poly-Slayer
Defeat 4 enemies simultaneously
See the achievement “Octa-Killer”

Hexa-Smasher
Defeat 6 enemies simultaneously
See the achievement “Octa-Killer”

Octa-Killer
Defeat 8 enemies simultaneously
I’m unsure with which attack I got this achievement, but it didn’t seems to hard. You might want an attack with an area effect like the swordsman’s special attack. I just got this achievement without trying, and I hope that will be the case for you as well. This seems easiest done in those challenge rooms where you need to survive to open the doors again.

Smooth Sailing
Survive to next level with all characters
Finish a floor with all characters alive.

Bent, but not broken
Survive to next level with three characters
Finish a floor with one character dead. You can let them die on purpose around the end of the level if you still have enemies alive or just by standing on traps (if you didn’t choose the foolish personality when making your team).

Dynamic Duo
Survive to next level with two characters
Finish a floor with two character dead. You can let them die on purpose around the end of the level if you still have enemies alive or just by standing on traps (if you didn’t choose the foolish personality when making your team).

The Last Arcadian
Survive to next level with only one character
Finish a floor with three character dead. You can let them die on purpose around the end of the level if you still have enemies alive or just by standing on traps (if you didn’t choose the foolish personality when making your team).

Risk Breaker
Beat a level with the maximum Risk
This is easiest done on Hard Mode, which you also need to complete for another achievement. In this mode, the risk level just increases harder (it increases when going down a floor, and based on how many enemies are still alive when leaving the floor). Just make sure you don’t pick up any coins that decrease the risk level! (so don’t use a character that attracts coins from further when trying to do this).

Bestiary Brutalia
Defeat all enemy types
You’ll unlock this achievement if you keep fighting all the monsters. There aren’t that many different ones.

Misc. Achievements

Safe Journey
Use a Golden Statue to lower the Risk
There is a Golden Statue on every floor. You pay money to lower the risk level. This can be done 5 times by the same Golden Statue but the price goes up.

Explorer of the Time Vaults
Visit all unique floors in Chronos Dungeon
You’ll for sure get this achievement before finishing five playthroughs, but I think you’ll even unlock it within the first playthrough.

Legendary Treasure Hunter
Collect all treasures
This are the items from the purple chests. If the floor has a purple chest, you’ll see it at the beginning of a new floor and it shows you even which way to search for it. You can’t get doubles, so it is just a matter of finding 50 purple chests. You can redo earlier world after beating the 4th world. And sometimes there is even more then 1 purple chest on a floor.

Completionist
100% the game
This is best combined with the “Legendary Treasure Hunter” achievement as I think you that you need all the treasures to get the 100%. You might also need to find all 4 Legendary Weapons. If you’re struggling with those, check out this video I made:

Determination
Beat the game in Hard Mode
Just beat the game on Hard Mode. This can be selected at the beginning of a new game.
I did combine the 100% achievement and this one, but I don’t recommend this. As the 100% achievement is so much easier done on a playthrough on easy.

Chronos Dungeoneer
Complete the game 5 times
You must play through the game five times. There are only three save slots, so you have to delete a save file twice. I tried to see if this unlocks when just beating the last world 5 times, but that wasn’t the case. Gladly, a playthrough on easy takes only around 2 to 3 hours. On easy mode, I only leveled up my favorite character and played through the whole game just with that character. And after already getting the 100% achievement, I ignored the chests, as the primary attack of my favorite character (huntress) felt stronger than any special weapon.
