Pilo and the Holobook Review

What a cute casual puzzle game about collecting stickers! Scan items in the world to make stickers and add them to your sticker book. One achievement might atm be missable. Completion takes around 4 hours.

Missable achievements: Unsure; at this moment, only one character (in the desert area) seems to be missable to scan for a sticker as they leave when you finish their story, but I know the developers/publisher would love to have no missable achievements. The achievements with a time aren’t missable.

Speedrun achievements: Yes, but only for 2 short tasks (under 40 seconds) and you can retry them if you fail to do them within that time
Time-gated achievements: No

Does difficulty affect achievements: No difficulty setting, but also no difficulty setting needed

In Pilo and the Holobook you get a device that will make stickers for your sticker book when you can new items. Your job is to fill the whole sticker book while also solving some mysteries.

I love how beautiful the artwork in Pilo and the Holobook is. A lot of work went into making a beautiful game, full of small details. It is addictive to find every item to make it a sticker and there are also a few puzzles to solve. For example, fill in a map to find the secrets or place stickers on the right spots to open a door.

The achievements are mostly story-related or for finding all the objects for the stickers. Completion takes around 4 hours. Two achievements might be missable because a certain person from the desert area will leave after solving their mystery. However, I know the developer/publisher would love to have no missable achievements, so they might find a solution for this in the future. None of the other achievements are missable. For example, the 2 achievements where you have to do something within half a minute, you can retry them if you weren’t able to do it within that time.

I give Pilo and the Holobook 3.5 out of 5 stars.
