I didn’t expect to have so much fun with this game as I had. The gameplay is a bit challenging but very doable with some practice. No missable achievements and completion takes around 1h or less.

2 Days ago I found out I gave myself a challenge at the beginning of this year to complete 1k games on TrueSteamAchievements. I totally forgot I had set this challenge up and I have been playing mostly quality games instead of quick-to-complete games this year, which I still stand by, as I prefer to enjoy the games. There is only a very small chance I’ll still be able to complete this challenge but after seeing that challenge I played a few quick completions.
Polygoneer was one of those games, and most of the rest was horrible but easy to complete… with this one I had a lot more fun than I expected. It doesn’t look interesting, maybe even boring and I was afraid it would be very challenging as I’m not a hardcore gamer but it was quite doable, and what I already wrote.. fun… That was so unexpected for something that looks like this and seems so simple.
You are the canon in the middle and you have 3 buttons to fire with different colors which have to match the enemies that will come toward you. For the high scores, you have to only hit the enemies, missing a shot will reduce the points you get for the next shots as it resets the multiplayer. It has achievements for getting multipliers this way, it also has achievements for staying alive in each of the 5 levels for 60 seconds. When an enemy hits you, you are instantly dead, so this might be a challenge but after practicing a bit, it is very doable.
This review for Polygoneer was written on 2 December 2022, based on the current Steam version of the game which has 40 achievements at the time of writing this review. This information can be outdated, for example, when the developer adds or removes achievements or releases (new) DLC.
