Revenge of the Savage Planet is a great action-adventure game. It takes around 20h to complete the game, it has no missable achievements. all achievements can be done in singleplayer. However, you need the “Cosmic Hoarder” DLC to be able to unlock all the achievements.

In Revenge of the Savage Planet, you are sent to an unknown planet to start colonizing it. However, when you finally land, you get the message that you got fired. So there you are on an unknown planet in an unknown planetary system, and without your tools, as those were shattered during your crash landing. Gladly, you have a talkative robot who will help you on your way. (And you can even change the setting on how talkative the robot is)
RotSP is full of jokes, crazy fake ads, and just weird stuff. It is a great world in which there is so much to explore. At first you can’t get to every collectible or resource, as you’re missing the tools, but the map even tells you which collectibles you can reach atm and which you can’t collect yet.
I love how the quest tracking system works. You can select the quest so it shows the tracking information for that specific quest, and then you see it on the top of your screen, so you know which way to go, but you also see it on your map. So if you use a teleporter, you can even see which one is closest to your next objective. Another great feature is how you can scan your direct environment so you know where to find collectibles and resources. And you want to pick both up, as you’ll need a lot of resources to make the upgrades. You also get those resources from killing enemies. Another fun feature is that you can catch the animals to research them for future upgrades (and pet/interact with them when they are in your base, they all have a different animation).
Another thing that you can do is style your base. In your main building, you have the option to add furniture (and a lot of those allow you to interact with them). You find boxes on the planets with money to spend on those items. This is totally optional, but there are achievements for cleaning the boxes next to your bed, placing furniture, and interacting with the different furniture.
During my 10-hour playtime, I only encountered one bug, and that was related to the audio on the third planet you get to explore. The standard music for that planet sometimes stopped working or sounded a bit weird when close to lava.
Unlocking all the achievements takes around 20 hours. However, you’ll need the Cosmic Hoarder DLC to be able to unlock them all. Otherwise, you’re missing some quests you must complete for a few achievements. None of the achievements are missable, and they can be done while you play through the game in single-player. I highly recommend scanning everything you see when landing on a new planet, which can be very time-consuming. And maybe already catch some enemies once you unlocked that ability. Gladly, each section of the map will show you where you’re missing stuff, so when you finished the main story and are mopping up the rest, you can easily see where you have stuff left.
I give Revenge of the Savage Planet 4 out of 5 stars.
