Stars In The Trash Review

Stars In The Trash

What a beautiful, heartwarming, but also sad story. I’m impressed by how good and how much fun Stars in The Trash is. It has a speedrun achievement and an achievement for not dying too often. However, it is a short story and all very doable. Completion takes under 3h.

What a wonderful adventure game with a heartwarming but also sad story. It is full of what we love about our cats (and dogs): spinning if you idle in the game, chirping at birds, and being mischievous. You can do it all in this game while trying to go outside your house and having an adventure if you finally escape.

The game looks gorgeous and has so many details. In the second run, you’ll even notice more details that weren’t so clear in the first run because you weren’t aware of certain things. I also loved that Jackson Galaxy made an appearance in the game.

There is quite a lot to do in Stars in The Trash, and what is extra nice about it is that everything will reward you with an achievement, so it is worth exploring and finding everything in your first run. Achievement-wise, almost nothing is missable. the only 2 missable achievements are for not dying more than 9 times and completing the game within 45 minutes. I recommend doing those 2 in a second playthrough while doing all the others in the first. There is a chapter selection option in case you missed something. Starting a whole new game will delete your previous save, but the game will also warn you about this.

I give Stars in The Trash 4.5 out of 5 stars.
