A great shopkeeper game, but one achievement is extremely grindy. No missable achievements, but completion takes such a long time because you need store lvl 99 to buy all the store expansions.

I love shopkeeper games, and Supermarket Simulator is a great shopkeeper game. It starts off with having a small shop in which you have to do everything yourself—restocking the shelves, checking out customers, and keeping the shop clean. However, with more experience and money, you can hire personnel to do most of your jobs. The only things you will have to keep doing yourself are buying stock, opening and closing the store, and making deliveries, although you can also ignore that last one.
I love how smart the stockers are programmed. They will prioritise keeping shelves full over putting away boxes. And it seems like they also look at doing the most empty shelves first. They are not perfect, as they can get stuck (I have one self-scan checkout where one stocker and one customer helper get stuck on all the time), but they could be a lot worse as well. I’m also glad you can buy self-checkout registers as that is a lot easier than having cashiers and be limited by how many cashiers you can have based on your shop level.
There are many shop items for which you can buy licenses. However, I don’t think it would be smart to get them all, as you can’t expire the license, and when you have the license, customers seem to expect you to have those items. So, make a selection and be mindful of buying more product licenses.
You can order the goods online, but going to the wholesale stores yourself and getting the products is a lot cheaper. However, this is easier once you have a vehicle, otherwise you can only take one box with you at a time.
The achievements for Supermarket Simulator are very grindy. A lot of them you unlock just with time, but to be able to have four cashiers you need to have store level 50 (Which takes around 20h+) and to be able to buy all the store upgrades you need to have store level 99, which I guess takes around 60 hours based on completionist stats. In my opinion, this takes way too long, and you can’t really idle as you need to keep an eye on the stock and open and close the store yourself.
I give Supermarket Simulator 3 out of 5 stars.
