Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection – Achievement guide (contains spoilers!)

Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection

In this guide, I’ll describe how to unlock all the achievements in Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection.

Welcome

Welcome to this achievement guide for Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection. The game doesn’t have any missable achievements. You also don’t need to unlock all the medals for the achievements, only 50 of them. I would recommend playing through the game blind at first and then looking up what you have missed.

Some general tips:

  • Resurrect as many monsters as possible. If your space is full, just let a bunch of them free. This also helps out with getting a lot of materials.
  • Maybe keep 1 elemental type of an early-on monster in your inventory until you unlock the achievement to have all 7 of the different variants of one monster.
  • There are accessories that help you earn more experience, and to level up, it is recommended that you kill monsters that are around the same level as you.
  • Don’t worry about the medals at all; most of them are much easier to unlock later on.

I hope you’re enjoying Sword of the Necromancer: Resurrection! If you do, please remember to leave a review on the Steam page. Even a short review will help out the developer a lot.

Story-related achievements

You’ll unlock the following achievements by playing through the story and the extra content. You’ll get a cutscene after each boss fight.

The powers of Necromancy are mine
Get the Sword of the Necromancer

No matter the cost
Resurrect Koko
Story-related

I reject this cursed power
Get rid of the Sword of the Necromancer
When you play with Koko, go to the tutorial area to change it for Tama’s sword. The tutorial area is to the left of the main entrance of the dungeon.

This is our story
See all the memories
After each boss fight you’ll see a cutscene with a memory.

Let’s end this… Together!
Defeat the Necromancer
This is the good ending. To unlock this, you must go with Koko to the tutorial area (to the left of the dungeon entrance) to get Tama’s sword and defeat Tama and the Necromancer.

Combat-related achievements

Overkill
Kill an enemy with a single blow
Don’t worry about this one. You can get it early on, and if you don’t have it when finishing the story, you can always go back to an earlier level to kill a low-level enemy while you become stronger.

Take this!
Perform 10 Critical Attacks
This will come with time. Another one to not worry about.

With all your might
Perform 10 Charged Attacks
Hold the attack button of a weapon till the weapon glows, then release it.

This won’t hurt me
Deflect 10 magic attacks
You have to use a shield right before a magic attack hits you to deflect the attack.

Useless! Useless!
Perform 10 perfect dribbles
Do a dash around a monster 10 times.

Tonight we dine in hell!
Kill 300 enemies
This will pop before you finish the game.

Monster Slayer
Kill 1000 enemies
I unlocked this one just before finishing the game, but if you didn’t, I’m pretty sure you’ll get it soon after or while working on the other achievements.

Summon-related achievements

Army of Dead
Have 3 monsters summoned at the same time
Just equip 3 monsters and summon them.

Obey me!
Edit a Monster’s Tactics
I believe you learn how to edit tactics around floor 1-2 or 1-3, but the menu is already there if you want to do it earlier.

To train them is my cause
Get a monster to max rank
You have to level up a summon 10 levels in which they will get new abilities/traits. You can level them further after that, but they will not gain new abilities.

Monster Hunter
Get all elemental variants of a monster
Most monsters have 7 elements. I’m unsure if, for this achievement, you need to have all 7 variants as summons with you or not. I had them all with me when working towards this achievement.

To catch them is my real test
Revive 30 different types of monsters
There are 30 different enemy types in the game. In the bestiary, you can see which ones you have already resurrected. If you resurrected them but then died or left them level without the rope item, they might not count toward this achievement. So try to resurrect as many monsters as possible and let them free if you need room, as you can only have 20 of them.

Dungeon-related achievements

Army of One
Clear a dungeon floor without summoning a monster
Finish a level without summoning a monster. This is also an objective of level 1-3

Can’t touch this
Clear a dungeon floor without taking damage
It is easily done later on when you have a higher level and go back to the earlier levels. It is also an objective of some of the levels.

Completionist
Obtain all the medals in a level
You can unlock 3 medals in each level. Unlock all 3 on one level for this achievement.

Amasser
Obtain 50 medals
I’m so happy that you don’t need all the medals, only 50 for this achievement. This is very doable, as there are over 80 medals available in the game. You can see the requirements for the medals after you complete a level. But in this guide, you can already see them before you start a level so you can work toward unlocking medals on your first run of that level.

Miscellaneous Achievements

Forged in Fire
Modify Equipment using the Forge
in the main area, you find a forge where you can modify your weapons when they have empty slots.

Towards a new adventure
Find the Priestess Staff
It can be found in a level after the level 4 boss.

Max Power
Get the character to the maximum level
The max level is 50. Killing enemies around or higher than your level gives you the most experience.

Treasure Hunter
Find all the hidden chests
– 1-2 behind a broken wall you can destroy by attacking it.
– 1-2B Also behind a broken wall
– 2-3 underwater, shoot with your bow at the button on the ceiling
– 3-3 On your way to the room with the pillars and the switch, in the hallway to there, between 2 wall pillars, there is a breakable wall.
– 3-2B In the room at the bottom where you get a small key, the wall behind it is breakable. (Keep in mind that there are multiple rooms with small keys and breakable walls behind it, but this is the one that isn’t so clear that it is breakable)
– 4.3B At the bottom of the level, there is a breakable wall that is hard to notice.
– Level under the intersection, you can find a nook you can jump on from the platform that moves up and down. there is a broken wall there. You can see me breaking that wall in the video below
– In the room with the last boss fight before you go up on the stairs

Sword of the Necromancer
Get all the Achievements
Just unlock all the others.
