The wild Age Review

The wild Age

A fun and good-looking casual strategy game in the style of “kingdom” but in 3D. The achievements are very doable, a few are very grindy. 34h to 100% and none of the achievements are missable.

In this strategy game, you build a city and try to defend it from the monsters at night. I’ve never played kingdom, but it should be like a 3d version of that game. In the campaign, you have a few levels with different goals which unlock new stuff. In your first level you don’t run that fats on your horse and have to collect the coins yourself, but don’t worry about how annoying that is after you beat that level you can select a pet in character design and that will pick up the coins for you.

For the achievements, you don’t have to play all the levels. I did the “100 nights” achievement on the level where you have to survive 25 nights and have been getting to night 100 a lot more times after that. There are 3 very grindy achievements: One is for having earned 10k coins, one for killing 5k animals and one for killing 500 deer. Those amounts count over different levels and don’t have to be done in just one. After I got the other achievements I just made on a level on the easy difficulty a lot of farms and archers (and of course having level 4 walls) and let the game run, the armies will do their job. I was just standing at one of the exits of my kingdom to collect the coins. I idled around 8 hours, not all in the same level, sometimes I did a reset and build up my army again before I had those last 3 achievements.

I like this game a lot, it is fun, looks good and it is a relaxing game. The achievements are good overall just those 3 grindy achievements were a bit too long for my taste. I’m glad the game could run by itself and didn’t need much of my input or having to restart the levels a lot of time. If that would have been the case I might have liked the game less but for now, I fully recommend this game.
