Trash Goblin is a relaxing and casual game with quite a lot of repetition (which I didn’t mind). I love the story that got told bit by bit. No missable achievements, completion takes around 10 hours.

In Trash Goblin, you run a store that cleans and restores all kinds of trinkets. You start very bare bones, only a few trinkets can be found, and your tools are not the best. However, when playing further, you get options to unlock new items in the shop, customize the shop, and upgrade your tools, so the cleaning and restoring of trinkets gets easier.
At the beginning of the game, there isn’t much of a story yet. You get some snippets, but not much. I was afraid it would stay this way, and if that were the case, the repetition would become boring, but you get to know more and more people from the city and learn about their stories and adventures. I especially loved getting to know the one who keeps wanting bedpans. I loved to see their story progression.
Another thing I love is the accessibility options in this game. During the tutorial, the game tells you to hold the right mouse button to clean an item, but after that, it even tells you there is a setting to make it hover instead of holding the mouse button. The same goes for removing dirt blocks from trinkets.
The biggest challenges in Trash Goblin come from finding the right items for people and having inventory space. About the inventory space: you can buy a few items in your store to increase it, but later on you can go to a market spot on day 3 or 6 and sell a lot of the items you have in stock. As the people visiting your store mostly have requests, the people on the market buy what you already have in stock in most cases. It is also great that you can see in the objective menu of you already have something in stock so you know if you should search for the item in your inventory, or maybe decline the request. Finding the items is part of the charm, but there is also a system to request specific items. However, this is very expensive.
The requests of strangers are a simple “yes, I have it, wait, or decline. However, the named characters who are part of the story have the option to call them once you have the item they are looking for. This way, you can make sure you can always continue the story when finding the right item(s).
I had an excellent time playing through Trash Goblin. None of the achievements are missable, and you unlock most of them, if not all, while playing through the story. Some achievements look grindy, like cleaning 100 items or selling 100 items, but you most likely will already have unlocked them before the story ends. So enjoy the story and don’t worry about the achievements.
I give Trash Goblin 4 out of 5 stars.
