I’m so happy to see a new Turnip Boy game! I wish he would go on a more wholesome story arc… but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards for Turnip Boy… After committing tax evasion he now starts robbing banks… Where will he end up in the future? But I hope this will not be the last we see of him!
While Turnip Boy Robs a Bank is a different genre than Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion, it still is just as much fun as the last title, and full of the humor we loved in the first title. the story goes further where the first one ends, but you don’t need to have played the first one to be able to enjoy this. however, there are a lot of references to the first game, so it is more enjoyable if you have played that one first.
TBRAB is a rogue-lite in which you get asked to rob a bank, and while doing so you’ll get loads of tasks by other characters that you’ll meet in your runs. There is a main structure in the bank that will always be the same route, but there are rooms that will switch between rooms, that way you’ll meet so many characters and maybe in later runs find the things/people they asked for. An important thing to do is bring back weapons you found during your run because you can sacrifice them to the blueprint board to unlock new starter weapons which will be so much better than the ones you start the game with. You’ll need those for the “final” run, as that one is a real challenge.
None of the achievements are missable, and you’ll unlock already a bunch by playing through the game, just keep an eye out for the objectives on your to-do list to finish up those. The objective to rob a bank never got completed in my game, but the 38 other tasks need to be completed for the achievements. Focus on bringing back weapons for the blueprint board and increasing the amount of money you can earn and the rest will follow.
