Welcome to my guide for Whalien, such a fun puzzle platformer with an enjoyable achievement list that doesn’t have any missable achievements, as there is a level selection option. Completion takes around 5h.

Keep in mind that this guide will contain spoilers as it goes into detail about how to get all the achievements.

Doing something specific achievements

In this section, I’ll explain how to get the achievements for which you need to do something specific.

I will prewhale!
We all make Mistakes…
You’ll unlock this achievement when you die for the first time.

Knowledge is Power
Show the Monkey Squiddie your favourite Book
In your home you can find several books, I don’t think it matters which book but take one with you to the Garden level and defeat the monkey that holds the battery with that book.

Good for the Eye!
Bring a Carrot to a Tentacle Fight
In the Garden, you can find carrots, take one of them with you to the next area and use that to defeat the tentacle.

Triple-A Fishing
Witness a Springpeople make an energizing Catch
In the fish farm close to where you start you’ll see a battery, throw this in the water and the fisher close by will fish it up for you.

Squid Pro Quo
Defeat 150 Squiddies
Those are the small blobs you see all over every level, you’ll encounter way more than just 150. Just use one of your skills on them to destroy them.

I’m out…
Annoy the Bunny Squiddie with one of your Pearls
This can be done very early on. When you see the Squiddle around the exit of a level, don’t go to close to him but instead use your skill very close to it.

Talk of the Town
Talk to 30 different Springpeople
You’ll unlock this after talking to 30 springpeople. I got the feeling there are way more springpeople than 30 and later on, you’ll see most of them again. For collecting all the stickers you already have to talk to quite a few.

Shopping Spree
Visit every Store on your Journey
The shops are located in both areas with the elevator. Just enter the shops to unlock this achievement.

Sweet Tooth
Feed the Tentacle all Items from the Candy Machine
On the level with the broken elevator, you’ll find a tentacle that you can feed all 3 of those items that can be retrieved from a candy machine close by.

Attract-able
Have Mrs. Pull influence 25 Objects at the same time
I combined this with the Mr. Push achievement and did it in level 13 the Pantry. Just use the skill to pull under one of the two pipes on the side with the rice or seaweed (I did it with rice). And wait till Attract-able pops, when that happens, cast the Mr push spell just in the same area and then retrieve Mr. pull so all of those items got pushed away.

Repel-ious
Have Mr. Push influence 25 Objects at the same time

Delicacy
Have the giant Bunny Squiddie eat you
This will easily happen in the last level, if you missed it, restart that level and just stand in front of the Squiddle.

Number One Fan
Use every Fantilator that you come across
I almost would say this is story-related, just a few you might only encounter when going for all the stickers.

Ready for Take-Off
Discover the Lounge in the Star Restaurant
After getting the giant squid onto the belt, you can jump on the thing around its neck and reach new areas in this last level.

Most tuneful!
Have all Members of The Seastar play out of Tune at the same Time
After you raised the stage with all the musicians, you can use your pull and push skill to have them all active at the same time. PS. Can we all appreciate how awesome the music in this level is!
