Amazing Metroidvania pinball game! I wouldn’t think that would work together, but it does in this game. I love this game! It takes around 12-15h including a ton of collectibles.

Who would think to combine a metroidvania with pinball? It sounds crazy but this game is amazing! In this game you’re a beetle who wants to enjoy a good life while working for the local post office. Things already change quickly while you just arrived and there is no time to just enjoy an easy life, you have to save this island!
It is amazing how they integrated so many pinballs into a beautiful open world. Even more intriguing are the boss battles which also consist of pinball objectives. The artwork in this game is stunning. Yoku’s Island Express is so much fun to play that I’ll add it to my list of games that I love.
The most achievements you’ll unlock while playing the story and the side-quests. There are a lot of collectibles in this game! I suggest getting as many as you can while playing the story. Most of all, try to get all the scarabs while playing the pinball sections so you won’t have to backtrack for those. For the wickerlings there exists 4 tracking “eyes”, one for each segment of the map, which makes finding those so much easier. I forgot to look for those and have searched around the island for 3 hours without those trackers, while it would have been so much easier with them. You can also buy a map to see all the treasure chests. Try to unlock the beelines as quickly as possible, as they will make traveling around the island so much faster.
Pros & Cons:
+ Amazing artwork
+ Very unique gameplay
+- A lot of collectibles, which you need for the achievements
